‘Jesus Was’ Delayed: Charges that a multimedia show about the life of Jesus contained anti-Semitic material have caused New York’s Radio City Music Hall to postpone the $24-million production’s two-week run, which was to have opened Wednesday. The flap over the touring “Jesus Was His Name,” which has not caused controversy elsewhere, began when some of the city’s religious leaders complained the show implicates Jews for the Crucifixion of Christ. Jewish temple priests appear in Darth Vader-style death masks during the production, emitting snake-like hissing noises. In a statement, the Music Hall said the postponement will allow producers to “clarify the views which have been expressed . . . and to look again at the show in detail.” There was no immediate word on possible new dates.
