Director Found: Sabin Epstein, most recently a director with A Noise Within in Glendale, has been hired to direct GroveShakespeare’s first outdoor production of the season, “King Lear,” tentatively scheduled to open on June 26, starring Alan Mandell. Epstein replaces Stuart McDowell, the Garden Grove company’s recently resigned artistic director, at the helm of “Lear.” The production still hinges on whether officials of the financially strapped group can raise enough money to do at least two of the three outdoor shows planned for this summer.
