Taking charge: Japan’s Sony Corp. has consolidated its U.S. operations under Michael P. Schulhof.
Schulhof gains responsibility for domestic electronics operations as head of the newly named Sony Corp. of America. His promotion reflects the coming together of hardware and software with fast-moving technological advances, according to Schulhof.
“This is not a personal recognition,” he said. “It’s a reflection of Sony’s commitment to the further integration of electronics and entertainment.”
Sony’s U.S. holdings include CBS Records and Sony Pictures Entertainment, parent company of TriStar Pictures and Columbia Pictures.
