Woman Killed by Female Purse Snatcher in Vegas

LAS VEGAS — A woman was killed after she refused to give up her purse to a female purse snatcher, officers said.
Sara Lynn Halsey, 20, of Las Vegas was shot once in the throat late Friday night in a vacant lot next to a nightclub. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Police said Halsey was standing with friends in the lot near the Shark Club on East Harmon Avenue when a car pulled up with two women inside.
The passenger asked Halsey for a cigarette and grabbed her purse when Halsey opened it. The passenger then shot Halsey in a struggle over the purse, officers said.
