John Force of Yorba Linda barely fell short of the first four-second run in funny-car history during the Mopar Parts Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J. Force had a 5.019 at 289.48 m.p.h. The 5.019 was the quickest funny-car run in drag racing history.
