Rohrabacher Looking Out for Constituents’ Interests at AFB
- Share via
* As a citizen of Orange County with a longtime involvement in airport noise issues at John Wayne Airport and a constituent of Congressman Rohrabacher, I do not regard the congressman’s efforts to find an additional airport for Southern California as interference or self-interest.
Rather, Congressman Rohrabacher is evidencing a strong interest in the economic life of Southern California and appropriate concern on an issue that has long been ignored--the relationship of airport development and economic growth.
While I personally believe that El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, and not George Air Force Base, is the solution to Southern California’s air transportation problems, I strongly defend Congressman Rohrabacher’s right to participate in the making of regional policy for the benefit of the region’s citizens, no matter whose district that policy involves.
