DIVISION V, VI BASEBALL : Eighth-Inning Rally Against Avalon Gives St. Margaret’s 6-5 Victory

St. Margaret’s rallied with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat visiting Avalon, 6-5, Friday in a Southern Section Division VI baseball playoff game.
Avalon scored three unearned runs in the top of the inning to take a 5-2 lead.
Greg Danz drove in two runs with a double to win the game. St. Margaret’s (13-2) advanced to play Hesperia Christian, an 11-3 winner over Bermuda Dunes Desert Christian, Tuesday in the second round.
In other Division VI play:
Liberty Christian 16, Inglewood South Bay Lutheran 6--Sophomore Paul Malcom had two hits, two sacrifice flies and three RBIs for Liberty Christian (14-7), which advanced to play Santa Maria Valley Christian, a 13-9 winner over Ojai Villanova Prep.
In Division V:
Sherman Oaks Buckley 8, Orange Lutheran 6--Jeff Courvoisier had two hits and two RBIs for Orange Lutheran, which finishes 17-8.
