Teacher Who Taped Shut Talky Pupils’ Mouths Quits

RUTHERFORD, Pa. — A substitute teacher who silenced three talkative second-graders by taping their mouths shut quit after outraged parents called for her dismissal. Officials said the teacher asked that her name be removed from the Central Dauphin School District’s list of fill-in teachers. She had been verbally reprimanded by district officials but was allowed to continue teaching.
