Man Killed, Wife Injured in Car Crash

LAGUNA HILLS — A 77-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon when his wife lost control of their car and crashed into a pole, authorities said.
Hendrikus Dekoning died at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 1:31 p.m. on Moulton Parkway, said Sheriff’s Lt. William Francis.
“The car veered off the road and onto the sidewalk,” Francis said. “There were no other vehicles involved.”
Dekoning’s wife, whose name was not released, was critically injured and taken to a local hospital, the coroner’s office said.
