Thousand Oaks residents can clear out the cobwebs from the garage or basement by bringing unwanted appliances, furniture and assorted junk to the eighth annual Community Cleanup and Recycling Day on Saturday.
The free one-day event has been moved from the three high schools to Conejo Creek Park South to accommodate more cars and materials, officials said. The park is at Janss Road and California 23.
In addition to furniture and appliances, items that will be accepted include residential yard trimmings, scrap metal, tires and clothes, officials said. No commercial trash or hazardous materials will be accepted. Goodwill Industries will also be on hand to accept donations of usable goods such as clothing, shoes, toys, books and small appliances.
