Stock Offer Raises $3.3 Million: Santa Ana-based California Quartz Inc., a manufacturer of custom quartz glass used in the making of computer chips, said Monday that it raised $3.3 million in an initial public offering.
The company issued 805,000 shares of common stock at $4 apiece and 805,000 warrants at 10 cents each. After six months, the warrants upon redemption can be exercised to buy common shares at $4.50 apiece.
David Lopes, chief executive of the company, said the proceeds will be used to expand manufacturing in Santa Ana and in San Jose, pay off some debt, and open a computer training facility.
The offering was underwritten by investment banks Westfield Financial Corp. and Robert Todd Financial Corp., both in New York.
