Medical Kit Manufacturer Says Earnings Fell 36%

Biopool International Inc., which makes test kits for diagnosing blood disorders, reported a 36% drop in earnings in the first quarter.
The Ventura company said its profit in the three months ended March 31 was $78,349, down from net income of $121,496 a year before. Its revenue fell 13%, to $1.03 million from $1.18 million.
Biopool said the results reflected lower sales from its Swedish subsidiary because of the decline in the value of the Swedish currency compared to the dollar.
