The owner of a Ventura clothing store was arrested late Friday on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of more than 20 minors after Ventura police officers found juveniles drinking at a dance party inside the store, police said.
Tony Torres, 19, of Ventura, co-owner of the Colour Ware clothing store at 2111 E. Thompson Blvd., was arrested after nearby residents complained of loud music coming from the store.
Officers found minors drinking alcohol inside the store, and arrested Torres about 10:30 p.m. Friday, police said. He was booked at Ventura County Jail and released Saturday, authorities said.
During a telephone call to the store, a man identifying himself as Torres denied the arrest. “I don’t even know what it’s about. Nobody was there. I closed the store at 6,” he said. Police maintain that Torres was indeed arrested.
