Whittier : Loud Parties to Draw Fine After First Police Warning
- Share via
Whittier residents who have loud parties could face fines if police officers return to their homes more than once to calm a rowdy gathering.
City Council members unanimously approved a new ordinance last week that will fine party hosts a minimum of $75 plus costs, such as the $30 to $35 hourly wage paid to police officers. Although officials did not set a maximum rate, police officers believe most fines would range between $75 and $1,000.
Officers will not charge party hosts for the first call.
