Superior Industries International Inc., a Van Nuys-based maker of aluminum wheels, said it picked Chihuahua as the Mexican city where it will build its new manufacturing plant.
As previously announced, the Mexican plant will produce 1 million wheels a year, primarily for General Motors, Ford and Chrysler, all of which have car manufacturing operations in Mexico. Superior said that the plant will cost about $30 million to build and that it will be ready for operation in mid-1994.
