I am dumbfounded that the FBI’s desire to make digital phone and computer lines easier to wire tap, buried in the middle of “Washington Insight” (April 27), warrants such scant attention. I must have missed the original report when the FBI proposed the legislation that would give them greater access to the private lives of citizens. Or is it that we have surrendered to these ceaseless trespasses upon what at one time was considered virtually a sanctified right, the right of personal privacy?
