Traffic Jams Targeted: The government is considering banning lone drivers from some Kuala Lumpur access roads at peak hours to ease congestion. Kuala Lumpur traffic jams are costing Malaysia $1.2 billion a year in lost productivity, Transport Minister Ling Liong Sik said at a conference on transportation. The minister said the number of cars in Kuala Lumpur is rising by 8% a year. Of the 23 major roads into the city, Ling said, all but one are overcrowded.
