Another game, another loss and another day of arguing for the last-place New York Mets and Bobby Bonilla.
The controversial right fielder and third-base coach Mike Cubbage got into a heated exchange on the field after the eighth inning on Saturday.
Bonilla, who walked with two outs in the eighth, did not run hard enough to satisfy Cubbage when Howard Johnson hit a shot to right fielder Junior Felix with Florida leading, 4-2.
“I told him to keep running,” Cubbage said. “He said he wanted to watch the ball and I told him that wasn’t his job. If he wants to watch a home run, he can watch it on television tonight.”
