Notes about your surroundings
Telegraph Canyon Field Trip--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society will host a field trip to Telegraph Canyon in Chino Hills State Park on Saturday.
There are several habitats in the canyon, including oak, sycamore and walnut trees, riparian, dry canyon bottom, grassland and some coastal sage scrub. Because of this, there should be a good variety of birds to see. Birds that may be seen on the trip include raptors such as red-tailed hawks and golden eagles.
The trip will begin at 8 a.m. and will end about 1 p.m.
People interested in participating should bring binoculars, water and a snack if they like. They should wear sturdy shoes and long pants because there are some patches of poison oak along the trail.
Those who would like to participate are asked to meet at the end of Rim Crest Road in Yorba Linda.
