Taper Grant: The Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum has received a grant of $1.47 million to develop Latino audiences. The grant from the Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Fund, which will be distributed to the Taper during four years, would establish a program to expand artistic programming and intensify Latino artistic and audience development. The fund’s awards of $9 million to 11 nonprofit theaters around the country also included a grant of $150,000 during three years to the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts. The Bilingual Foundation grant will also be used to develop Spanish-speaking audiences in Los Angeles and will include a series of marketing, advertising and outreach activities prior to its move to a new facility in 1996.
