PREP ROUNDUP : Santa Ana Wins to Clinch Playoff Spot in Volleyball

The Santa Ana boys’ volleyball team clinched third place in the Sunset League and its first Southern Section volleyball playoff bid by beating Ocean View in four games Thursday at Ocean View.
John Boyd and Carlos Bolanos each had 26 kills for Santa Ana and Jose Diaz had 49 assists for the Saints (13-4, 10-4), which won 14-16, 15-9, 15-3, 16-14.
In the Orange League:
Valencia 3, Western 1--Duy Do had 22 kills and Joe Reynoza had 17 kills and seven blocks for Valencia (11-5, 9-1) which won, 15-4, 14-16, 15-4, 15-5, and clinched its third consecutive league championship.
In the Garden Grove League golf finals:
Sisneros wins--Pacifica’s Matt Sisneros shot 10-over 154 over two days on Green River’s Riverside Course to win the league title. Alex Yi of La Quinta finished second at 158.
