Women’s Tennis at Industry Hills

Cal Poly Pomona will play host to the NCAA Division II women’s tennis championships beginning today at the Industry Hills Sheraton.
The eight-team tournament will run through Sunday, when the championship match will be played at noon. The tournament will then continue with individual competition in singles and doubles Monday through Thursday.
Pomona, which won the title the last two years under Coach Ann Lebedeff, finished the season 12-7 and is seeded third. It will play unseeded Northern Colorado (19-5), while top-seeded UC Davis (20-3) will play Pace (13-3) at 1 p.m. today. Second-seeded Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (20-9) will play Cal State Bakersfield (11-8) and fourth-seeded Grand Canyon (12-8) will play Abilene Christian (13-6) in 9 a.m. matches.
