Film: Sony Pictures Entertainment has struck a long-term production and distribution deal with Beacon Communications, the company that produced “The Commitments” and “A Midnight Clear.” Under terms of the deal, Sony will invest in films developed by Beacon. Sony’s two studios, Columbia Pictures and TriStar Pictures, will also share in domestic distribution of the movies, with Beacon retaining international rights. Beacon is run by writer-director Armyan Bernstein and Chicago businessman Tom Rosenberg.
