NEW TRACKS: It’s not training that’s needed to boost the local economy, but re training, some experts say. The county’s Chamber of Commerce and the Minority Business Council will join in a major project they call Job Saving Alliance. It’s to train small-business owners here--for free--how to teach new skills to employees who might otherwise face layoffs. . . . Explains the chamber’s Bruce Brown: “So many of these companies simply can’t afford to retrain on their own. But without change, they can’t stay competitive.”
