Carter Hawley Selects Marketing Chief: Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Los Angeles-based operator of the Broadway department store chain, has named Elayne M. Garofolo executive vice president of marketing and sales promotion. Garofolo, who will report to Carter Hawley President David L. Dworkin, will assume her duties May 24. Garofolo is leaving GFT USA Corp., a subsidiary of Italy-based Gruppo, to join Carter Hawley.
