One again, Buchanan feels compelled to tell conservatives that they need to be conscientious in embracing fascism and homophobia. Most people realize that Buchanan’s frightening appearance at the 1992 Republican Convention was one of the defining moments on President Bush’s path to defeat. Ironically, every time Buchanan shares his warped opinions, he aids the moderate and liberal causes. In the meantime, rational conservatives (possibly an oxymoron) are working overtime to distance themselves from his intolerant, fanatical politics. With a little luck, they will have coaxed him back under his rock before the next election.
