‘California, Here I Go’ a Disservice to State
- Share via
This is the first time I have written a letter in regard to a column in the Real Estate Section of Sunday’s paper, but I felt compelled to do so after yesterday’s (Feb. 21) article “California, Here I Go.”
My wife and I both read the article and had identical reactions: Why in the world would you print such an article? Given the status of the economy and the real estate market in the Southland, this was, at the very least, a strange article.
Perhaps The Times has concluded that the majority of your subscribers are thinking of relocating to another state and, as a reward for years of loyalty, you are now telling them exactly where to go! (I believe you could command a commission percentage on future sales from the real estate agents in the 10 cities you listed, unless you already have been compensated.) This is a huge disservice to the rest of us who happen to be staying in California.
Please do not use the explanation of “journalistic obligation.” I have long since tired of this excuse for irresponsible journalism. It appears that your creativity is so low and your sources for information are so dry that you are really reaching for “news” to fill the pages! Come on, how about some civic-mindedness when it is most needed!
