A man brandishing a large handgun robbed a Westlake bank Friday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash, sheriff’s deputies reported.
The robber entered the California Federal Bank at 2820 Townsgate Road at 4:58 p.m. and approached a teller, holding out a large-caliber semiautomatic handgun, authorities said. He demanded and received cash, then escaped on foot.
Witnesses described the robber as a white man in his 20s with a shaved head. He had a scab about the size of a quarter on his chin, no facial hair and was wearing a baggy brown tweed suit, officials said.
No arrest had been made late Friday.
