NOT SO SUPER: Dallas and Buffalo square off Sunday in the Rose Bowl, but Orange County is not as fortunate as it was the last time Pasadena played host to the event. . . . In 1987, the New York Giants stayed at the Westin South Coast Plaza and practiced at Rams Park; the Denver Broncos stayed at the Newporter and practiced at UC Irvine, and the NFL headquarters was the Anaheim Marriott. This time, both teams will stay and practice in Los Angeles. . . . “There are three reasons we’re here: USC, UCLA and the Century Plaza Hotel,” an NFL official said. “The schools offered their practice fields and the Century Plaza came up with a room rate ($135) that’s in a range the media is used to paying.”
