NEWPORT BEACH : City to Close Parks After 11 at Night
- Share via
In a move to stop loitering in city parks late at night, the City Council has decided to close them from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The new hours will become effective in February, city officials said Tuesday.
Anyone caught in city parks when they are closed, except for joggers or walkers, will be told to leave or will be cited by police, city officials said.
No incidents or complaints prompted the action, Mayor Clarence J. Turner said. “We just want to make sure we prevent loitering.”
