I never miss “I’ll Fly Away” (NBC), but I can understand why it doesn’t get the ratings it deserves. I think many white people find it painful to watch the racism that was prevalent then. I lived in the South during the 1940s and I know how true the attitudes shown in the series are.
People should watch and learn from it. It is an all-around excellent program.
