Cold Fusion Test Kit Touted as a Gift Idea

TOKYO — If you were wondering about a Christmas present for the research scientist who has everything, a Japanese company has come up with a novel answer--a do-it-yourself cold fusion test kit.

The kit can tell a researcher whether or not he has mastered cold fusion, the Holy Grail of modern science, say producers Advanced Film Technology.

The kit follows an earlier claim by a researcher who said he detected a type of helium atom after his experiments which had not been present before.

The kit on sale uses the same detection method,but at $564,000 it does not come cheap.
