ANAHEIM — A 5-year-old child died from injuries she received when a cabinet-like home-entertainment center fell on her, the Orange County coroner’s office said Saturday.
The accident occurred in the child’s home in the 800 block of North Loara Street about 8:15 a.m. Friday, a coroner’s spokesman said. The victim, Crystal Young, apparently climbed on a shelf of the entertainment center, causing it to tip over on her.
The child suffered major head injuries and was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was pronounced dead at 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to the coroner’s spokesman.
