Bellflower : Deputy City Atty. Kelton Named to Replace O’Shea

Stanley M. Kelton has replaced Maurice F. O’Shea, who resigned Sept. 30 after a decade as city attorney.
Kelton, 40, was named to the part-time post by the Bellflower City Council and will be paid $3,000 a month. He has been deputy city attorney since 1984.
A graduate of Paramount High School, Kelton received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from USC and a law degree from Loyola Marymount University. He was admitted to the State Bar in 1978.
“He’s been my associate for eight years and I think he’s extremely qualified and will do a real good job,” said O’Shea, 62, who said he retired from the Bellflower job to reduce his workload. He remains city attorney for Hawaiian Gardens and Paramount.
