COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Yorba, Routon Lead Rancho Santiago in Water Polo Regional

Jeremy Yorba had four goals and Josh Routon scored the winner with 1 minute 30 seconds remaining to give Rancho Santiago College a 9-8 victory over Fullerton in the opening round of the Southern California Regional water polo championships Wednesday at Rancho Santiago.
Rancho Santiago (19-10), which trailed, 8-7, heading into the fourth quarter, advanced to a match Friday against top-seeded Golden West at Belmont Plaza Pool in Long Beach.
Mark Allman scored four times for Fullerton. The top four teams from the 12-team regional field will advance to the state tournament Nov. 20-21 at Long Beach Belmont Plaza.
In another Southern California Regional game:
Orange Coast 17, Chaffey 9--Ryan Mulholland scored six goals for Orange Coast (18-8-1), which advanced to play Cuesta in Friday’s quarterfinals at Belmont Plaza. Karl Norberg scored three goals for Chaffey.
