He Has Megaproblems With Murray’s Column

Jim Murray’s Sept. 6 column extols the virtues of Jose Canseco. He even calls him a megastar, whatever that implies.
In the same paper, it was reported that an outstanding major leaguer had died. Billy Herman, a Hall of Famer, had a lifetime average of .304 with 2,345 hits. Megastar Canseco has a .267 lifetime average. The only place where Canseco beats Herman is in press coverage. Otherwise, he could not, on his best day, carry Bill Herman’s jockstrap.
