OXNARD : Women’s Shelter Plans Open House

The public is invited to attend the Sunday open house and dedication of the Lighthouse Women’s Shelter in Oxnard.
Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) will attend the open house, scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. at the shelter, 638 Meta St. Carol Roberg, director of the shelter, will conduct tours of the 10-bed facility.
Lighthouse will be Ventura County’s only shelter for single homeless women, Roberg said. The Ventura County Rescue Mission, which operates the shelter, will open the center’s doors on Thursday.
