The city’s Residents With Disabilities Advisory Board appointed two new members this month to replace members who left after serving two years.
Appointed to the board were Lynne Ruedy and Becki McCafferty to replace board chairwoman Norene Price and member Brian Johnson. The board advises city officials on issues important to disabled residents.
Ruedy is an elementary school teacher with a background in special education. She also is an active volunteer for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. McCafferty serves on the board of directors for the Dayle McIntosh Center for the Disabled and works as a model and spokeswoman for Quickie Wheelchair Manufacturers.
Both new members joined the board Sept. 1. At that meeting, the board appointed Phyllis Collier as its new chairwoman.
