1991: Fourth in CIF State Division I, Orange County champion, South Coast League champion.
Key returners: Jennifer Gillis, Jr., 20th at the State meet and second at section finals; Alison Livermore, Jr., 48th at State and 14th at sections; Vyen Pham, Jr., 18th at league finals; Laura Radley, Sr., 38th at league finals; Kelly Roda, Sr.; 13th at State and third at sections; Jackie Weimer, Jr., 29th at league finals.
Key newcomers: Jessica Corbin, Fr.; Nina Lennon, Sr.; Katie Roda, Fr.; Erin Livermore, Fr.; Shantel Vachani, Fr.
Outlook: Irvine’s move to the Sea View only makes a competitive league that much tougher. Gillis and Roda pack a powerful one-two punch, having led Irvine to a fourth-place finish at the State meet last season. They also handed Edison one of its two losses with a narrow victory at the ’91 Orange County championships. You can count on the two teams battling for county supremacy again this season.
