CSUN Women Rebound for Two Volleyball Wins

The Cal State Northridge women’s volleyball team rebounded from a season-opening loss earlier in the week with a pair of victories Friday in the Arizona State Labor Day round-robin tournament.
The Matadors (2-1) defeated Iowa, 17-15, 15-3, 15-1, and Weber State, 3-15, 15-6, 15-7, 15-7.
Senior middle blocker Nancy Nicholls had 24 kills in the two matches, 13 against Weber State.
Senior outside hitter Dawn Krenik had 24 digs against Weber State and a two-match total of 39.
Northridge was swept by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at Matador Gymnasium on Tuesday when the Matadors recorded a dismal hitting percentage of .062. On Friday, they improved to .192 overall, including a .266 mark against Iowa.
Northridge today will play Western Illinois and Arizona State, the other teams in the tournament.
