Support for Seymour

Since when is it a crime for an industry to support a political candidate who believes in that industry? “Seymour Reaps Cash Crop From Agriculture Industry” (Aug. 9) attempts to discount a process in which all groups participate. Simply, support the candidate of your choice. Agriculture, likewise, supported his predecessor, Pete Wilson, for similar reasons. It does not support your “unbiased” source, Rep. George Miller, for opposite reasons.
The California Farm Bureau Federation supports Sen. John Seymour for reelection because he is the best candidate. He has demonstrated a willingness to listen and understand the myriad challenges that confront agriculture.
The writers of your article could have written the same story about other candidates and their supporters with little adjustment to the story.
