High-Tech Education

It is a shame that Northrop and General Dynamics cannot find the technical help that they need (‘Southland Aerospace Firms Suddenly Lack Engineers,” Aug. 22). It is time for us to wake up! We live in a high-tech society. We need to promote to the youth the necessity of math and science in their future.
It is the highly technical jobs that will survive. Everyone is saying that now is the time for action. Companies like Northrop and Lockheed have been doing this through their support of youth programs like Mathcounts. Let’s do something before it’s too late!
