California Desert Bill
I wondered why your Aug. 6 article on Seymour’s bottling up the so-called desert “protection” bill was so biased. Your editorial on the bill clarified the reasons. To call that bill a “protection” bill or state that its goal is to “protect” the desert without using quotation marks is a farce. The correct name for the bill should be the desert closure bill since it will close off large areas containing billions of dollars of proven and potential mineral resources and other economic and public uses of these public lands.
