The San Diego Yacht Club has appointed a committee to recommend ways of reducing costs of future America’s Cup campaigns--a complaint by most of this year’s entries, including the winner, Bill Koch of America 3, who said his five-boat program cost about $65 million. Much of that expense will be recouped through a tax write-off.
