LECTURE: The Rev. Sherre Boothman, senior pastor of North Hollywood’s Metropolitan Community Church in the Valley, will speak on “Homosexuality and Christianity” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the North Hollywood branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.
The free talk, scheduled in connection with Lesbian and Gay History Month, was announced by a spokesman for the library branch at 5211 Tujunga Ave.
HOMELESS BENEFIT: Broadway-style and inspirational music by composer James Mitchell will be performed at a concert tonight at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 17114 Ventura Blvd., Encino, to benefit the Homeless Project of the Valley Interfaith Council.
Organizers are asking donations of $7 for tickets, which may be reserved by calling (800) 733-3031 or can be purchased at the door. The concert starts at 7 p.m.
CELEBRATION: Led by guest conductor Johnny Mann, the Shepherd of the Hills Church in Porter Ranch will present a patriotic musical production at 7 p.m. on July 5 featuring a salute to the military services.
