Honestly Genesis

Chris Willman misses the point of “Jesus He Knows Me” by stating that Genesis’ spoof on crooked televangelists isn’t “entirely becoming of a band so eager to embrace beer ads and corporate sponsorship” (“Genesis Sans Grandeur, Plus Gags,” June 20).
When a band is sponsored by a corporate entity, the public is not being deceived as to what product or products are being promoted. By contrast, some televangelists make a living out of deliberately misleading the public with regard to their true aims (profits instead of a desire to help others).
Genesis is comprised of three extremely talented individuals, each of whom contribute to the songwriting and staging of the band’s shows.
