Nation IN BRIEF : INDIANA : Repairs Under Way as Water Use Curbed

Repairs on a canal that supplies most of Indianapolis’ water were nearly completed but 300,000 residents were told to continue boiling drinking water as a precaution. Crews reinforced the Indianapolis Water Co. levee and it had begun refilling, said spokesman Ron Carrell. normal operations are expected by this morning, Carrell said. The canal collapsed Friday after thunderstorms. Gov. Evan Bayh did not yet have damage estimates.
