Regarding “Title Bouts: Children in Literacy Program Earn Cash for Reading Books” (June 11), I was encouraged to learn of the program of paying students to read. When I was in second grade, around 1965, my father decided to pay me a penny a page to read. After a month and six books, my father stopped paying, but I kept reading. I hope to see this program spread.
