Toyota Expects 1993 Price Hikes: Toyota Motor Corp., which raised prices on autos sold in the United States last March, said further price increases are likely in 1993. But Yale Gieszl, executive vice president of Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc., would not speculate on the size of the increases. He denied allegations that the auto maker raised prices to hold down their share of the market. That would placate protectionists who favor import quotas and other restrictions on Japanese cars sold in the United States.
