Ayrton Senna wrapped up the pole position...

From Staff and Wire Reports

Ayrton Senna wrapped up the pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix without having to improve on his record-breaking lap from the first round of qualifying at Montreal. The Brazilian, who won the provisional pole Friday by turning a lap in 1 minute 19.775 seconds, retained the lead after overnight rain slowed the 2.753-mile circuit on the Isle du Notre Dame.

The best lap of the final qualifying session was a 1:19.948 by Formula One points leader Nigel Mansell of England, who moved from fourth to third on the 26-car grid. Mansell’s teammate, Riccardo Patrese of Italy, will start on the outside of the front row.
